XRDS 2024: The Ultimate Festival for Music, Diversity, and Green Initiatives

The XRDS Festival, hosted under the iconic Anderlecht viaduct in Brussels, is set to return on August 17th and 18th, 2024. This unique celebration of electronic music, curated by Belgium’s renowned Fuse club, promises an exhilarating experience with performances from 47 distinguished and emerging artists.

Highlights include a first-ever back-to-back set by Ben Klock and MARRØN, the pulsating performance by KAOS label head Héctor Oaks, and the debut collaboration of Marie Montexier and Ogazón. Additionally, Fuse residents like Altinbas and Phara in a b2b with Fadi Mohem, and the talented artist Spray performing live for the first time in Belgium, will electrify the crowd.

Steven Van Belle, a key figure from Fuse, emphasizes the festival’s commitment to sustainability and inclusion. “We work tirelessly to ensure XRDS minimizes its environmental impact,” Van Belle states. “From comprehensive waste sorting and local vegan food options to protective measures like road plates to minimize terrain damage and pocket ashtrays for cigarette disposal, our goal is to leave the park cleaner than we found it. We aim to have it so that after two weeks, you won’t even know a festival took place here.”

XRDS goes beyond environmental efforts by promoting inclusivity, making it a safe space for everyone. The festival features a diverse lineup and has a fully trained awareness team on-site, ensuring a secure and welcoming environment. “We have a fully trained awareness team on site that is roaming the festival grounds. We’ve also got our own in-house security firm on site that knows how to handle delicate situations. We also work together with Safe and Sound and Modus Vivendi to advise us beforehand on our protocols as well as helping us on the field,” Van Belle elaborates. “Our awareness team and security staff are trained to handle any situation, ensuring a secure experience for all attendees. From queer siblings duo S-Candalo to the Queerly Beloved podcast host Cormac, the lineup celebrates diversity.”

The festival will enhance its layout with more bars, better entrance flow, modern restroom facilities, and free water distribution through fountains. This year’s edition promises to refine the experience further, incorporating audience feedback and learnings from previous years. Attendees can look forward to a more optimized site with relocated stages and a makeover of the Viaduct stage.

The atmosphere will be further enriched by after-parties at Fuse, featuring 11 additional artists, ensuring the festivities continue through the night. The dynamic after-party lineup includes Beste Hira, Sonhan b2b Souleiman, and Fuse resident Hadone, allowing festival-goers to conclude their nights in style.

For house and techno enthusiasts, XRDS is the must-attend event of the season. With a blend of top-tier music, robust sustainability practices, and a commitment to inclusivity, XRDS 2024 promises an unforgettable festival experience.
