STUDIO SHOO, renowned for its innovative design approach, has recently completed the interior design of the new restaurant and lounge at Courtyard by Marriott Hotel in Yerevan, Armenia’s capital. This project encapsulates a harmonious blend of Mediterranean and Middle Eastern influences, brought to life through a palette inspired by the natural world.
Upon entering the restaurant, guests are greeted by an open kitchen that features a striking burgundy pizza oven, offering a theatrical glimpse into the culinary process. The ambiance is further enriched by a sophisticated mix of warm terracotta, vibrant burgundy, and gentle hues of natural green and blue, reflecting the soil, sea, and surrounding environment.
One of the standout elements is the meticulously crafted floor, where copper bits, set in a custom pattern, are inlaid with concrete. This intricate work showcases the talent of local Armenian artisans, adding a unique, handcrafted touch to the space.
Shushana Khachatrian, the visionary behind STUDIO SHOO, emphasized the importance of using natural materials like rattan, marble, and dried flowers from Armenian fields. She stated, “Each hotel we work on has a unique narrative and provides a fresh source of inspiration, yet they are all unified by shared brand values. Our design approach is independent of trends, focusing instead on timeless earth tones and materials.”
The result is an interior that not only invites guests to experience the rich culinary offerings but also to immerse themselves in Armenia’s vibrant culture and craftsmanship.
