Suzuki made a strong impression at the Brussels Motor Show by officially presenting its e VITARA, the brand’s first fully electric model. Car enthusiasts already got a glimpse of it at the Suzuki stand and have praised its bold design, fully electric powertrain, and genuine off-road capabilities, confirming the warm reception reserved for this new SUV.
The e VITARA is built on the new “HEARTECT-e” platform, specifically designed for electric vehicles: a lightweight structure, a long wheelbase, and short overhangs provide a spacious cabin while effectively protecting the battery. Its dynamic performance comes from the eAxle — which integrates the electric motor and inverter — paired with a lithium iron phosphate battery for brisk acceleration right from the lowest speeds.
Suzuki stays true to its off-road DNA: the e VITARA features the ALLGRIP-e electric all-wheel-drive system with two independent eAxles, one at the front and one at the rear. A Trail mode ensures optimal grip by precisely controlling wheel slip on difficult terrain.
Production is set to begin in India in spring 2025, with the e VITARA expected to arrive on the roads of Europe, India, and Japan by the following summer. “This first fully electric SUV embodies our efforts to offer a practical and exciting BEV, while moving toward carbon neutrality,” says Toshihiro Suzuki, President of Suzuki Motor Corporation. It marks a major milestone for the brand, which is now embarking on an expansion of its future electric range.
