Renault is presenting its show car Twingo E-Tech electric prototype in Belgium for the first time at the Brussels Motor Show, taking place from January 10 to 19. More than just an exhibition, this event marks the Belgian debut of the new-generation Twingo, confirming Renault’s commitment to making electric mobility even more accessible.
A modernized Twingo heritage
Twingo E-Tech electric prototype draws on the lively spirit of the very first Twingo from 1992. Agility, a minimalist one-box silhouette, a friendly and ingenious “face”—it all harkens back to the original city car that revolutionized its segment. But now, it’s been reinvented as a 100% electric version, designed for uncompromising urban use.
Ingenious interior space
Don’t let its compact dimensions fool you: with 5 doors and a panoramic glass roof, the interior feels remarkably spacious and bright. True to Renault’s “voitures à vivre” philosophy, this new Twingo meets the demands of city life, all while boasting a clever design and unique charm.
Distinctive features
- Nods to the iconic Twingo: the circular door handle on the flank and the three small openings on the hood—now purely aesthetic in this electric model—are clear references to the original.
- Updated looks: the rear window is framed in black, while the external taillights lend a “tech” and playful feel.
- Expressive headlights: directly inspired by the first Twingo, the round headlights make the Twingo E-Tech electric prototype endearing and instantly recognizable.
Coming in 2026 at an affordable price
This show car heralds the fourth generation of Twingo, expected in 2026 and developed by Ampere. With an entry-level price under €20,000, it promises to further democratize electric mobility. Joining the upcoming electric models in Renault’s range—Renault 5 E-Tech electric, Renault 4 E-Tech electric, Megane E-Tech electric, and Scenic E-Tech electric—Twingo E-Tech electric prototype aims to make electric driving accessible and fun for everyone.
