March 22, 2025, Leinfelden-Echterdingen, Germany – In celebration of five years in Europe, smart unveils the smart #5, an all-electric SUV that expands its innovative lineup. Built on an 800-volt platform, it promises a WLTP range of up to 590 km and caters to both urban commuting and outdoor adventures.
Electric Performance and Versatility
As the largest model ever created by the brand, the smart #5 is available in five trims (Pro, Pro+, Premium, Pulse, and Summit Edition). Depending on the configuration, it comes with a battery of up to 100 kWh, an all-wheel-drive system, and five off-road driving modes. Its spacious interior, featuring 34 storage solutions and modular seating, offers up to 1,530 liters of cargo space.
Onboard Technology and Safety
A next-generation AMD V2000 processor powers two 13-inch OLED displays, a head-up display with augmented reality, and a 20-speaker Sennheiser Signature audio system. On the safety front, a hybrid steel-aluminum structure is paired with V-shaped curtain airbags and advanced driver assistance systems (Pilot Assist, adaptive cruise control, etc.), thoroughly tested across Europe to meet the highest standards.
European Availability and Pricing
Orders will open in Germany starting April 24, 2025, followed by a rollout in other markets. In Belgium, the smart #5 is priced from €46,400 (Pro) up to €57,700 (Summit Edition). Interested drivers can register on smart.com for updates on this new electric SUV.
