Silent Natures: Finding Stillness in Brussels

From September 19 to 22, 2024, the Maison Costermans at the Sablon will host Silent Natures, the latest exhibition by Isabelle Ravet (Isara). Presented as part of Brussels Art Square (BAS), this collection of intimate works is a quiet invitation to pause and reflect.

Isara draws inspiration from Flemish painting traditions, particularly in her depiction of everyday objects—fruits, flowers, and vegetables. Each piece, small in scale but rich in detail, evokes the stillness and contemplation reminiscent of classical still lifes, but with a fresh approach. The works feel alive, suspended in time, yet infused with calm and introspection.

The exhibition’s square miniatures (each just 9 centimeters wide) showcase Isara’s mastery of light and shadow, creating a meditative atmosphere. These subtle and delicate pieces remind viewers of the beauty found in the quiet moments of life, away from the noise of the outside world.

Whether you are an art lover or simply seeking a peaceful experience, Silent Natures offers a retreat into stillness, inviting you to explore the grace and simplicity of the everyday.
