After a four-week transformation, Da Terra, the two-Michelin-starred restaurant in East London, reopens on October 18th, 2024. Housed in the historic Town Hall Hotel in Bethnal Green, Da Terra is helmed by Chef Patron Rafael Cagali and General Manager Charlie Lee.
This latest evolution is more than just cosmetic, with behind-the-scenes upgrades, an expanded kitchen, and a redesigned layout aimed at deepening the connection between the kitchen and its guests.
The dining experience begins with pre-dinner drinks and snacks in the newly designed lounge, allowing guests to relax before heading to the intimate 28-seat main dining room. Here, Rafael’s menu draws from his Brazilian and Italian heritage, blending refined flavours and playful textures with a deep connection to nature. His culinary approach, rooted in global influences, showcases inventive, personal dishes that reflect his journeys through Brazil, Italy, and Spain.
The redesign allows greater collaboration between the chefs and front-of-house, providing a more immersive dining experience where several courses are presented and finished tableside. The expanded kitchen has also opened new possibilities for Rafael and his team, who are eager to explore new ideas.
Having earned two Michelin stars since opening in 2019, Da Terra’s evolution reflects both a desire to innovate and a commitment to staying true to its roots. With the reopening, Rafael and Charlie are reimagining fine dining in London, creating an experience that blends precision, warmth, and creative freedom in one of the city’s most unique locations.
Da Terra’s return is a must for anyone looking to explore the next phase of modern dining in East London.
