Maison LELEU: The Art of Living with Art
A new sofa, contemporary artworks and a collector’s eye. Maison LELEU brings furniture and art into the same conversation, with a selection curated by Alexia LELEU.
The sofa has interesting company. Around Maison LELEU’s new Cristobal, works by Rachel Whiteread, Lee Friedlander and Richard Rezac form an installation that considers furniture as part of a wider composition. Selected by Alexia LELEU from the artists represented by Luhring Augustine, the artworks appear alongside the Maison’s latest designs until 26 February 2027.

The pairing gives the furniture collection a context beyond its own catalogue. A sofa establishes a place to sit; the art around it gives that space another focus. Here, the interest lies in how the individual pieces work together, bringing a collector’s sensibility to the arrangement of a room.

Cristobal is paired with Zeus coffee tables, while the new Boussole rug connects the ensemble. The installation places the rug in dialogue with works by Rezac and Whiteread, extending the composition from the furniture to the artworks. New lighting designs punctuate the display, illuminating both.

This is also an expression of LELEU’s role as an ensemblier-décorateur: designing an interior through the relationships between its parts. Furniture, rugs, lighting and art each have their place, but the real subject is the room they create together.
For a collection launch, that is a compelling shift of focus. Cristobal may be the new arrival, but it does not need the room to itself.
Exhibition dates: 19 October 2026 to 26 February 2027.
Show room: Sur rue des Saints Pères 75006
