Brussels Design September brings together museums, galleries, workshops, schools, shops, and new shared spaces to showcase the best of Brussels’ creativity in terms of design and innovation.
Through an extensive programme of activities, the event will give the public the opportunity to meet designers and ask questions about issues such as the environmental impact of the design sector.
Alongside considerations of whether an object is useful or beautiful, there’s an increasing importance placed on understanding ‘sustainability’. Environmental impact goes beyond the process and the material used to construct an object, consideration also needs to be given to how the object is used and what the impact is on someone who uses the product. It’s a fascinating area of discussion and exploration.
The theme of this year’s Design September is “Design is the answer”. The programme will feature designers who are active in upcycling and circular and collaborative design.
