Casa Alta: A Taste of the Mediterranean, High Above Brussels

A rooftop view, a breeze that smells like summer, a chilled cocktail in hand. No, this isn’t Ibiza — it’s central Brussels. But at Casa Alta, perched atop the Grand Casino VIAGE, you’d be forgiven for forgetting where you are. This new seasonal escape blends Mediterranean ease with Belgian soul, offering a heady mix of sunshine, design, and celebration.

Following the success of Là-Haut VIAGE and Chalet d’Altitude, Brussels nightlife creatives Miguel-Angel Perez Lavandera and Matthieu Goussault are back with their latest vision: a bohemian-chic rooftop haven, designed with passion and purpose. Nothing here is off the rack — the rugs are vintage, the wood reclaimed, the ambiance curated by hand. It’s not just a bar; it’s a space with a heartbeat.

The terrace, drenched in natural light, feels like a finca transplanted from Andalusia. Under sheer jute canopies and sun-bleached woods, it invites you to slow down and soak it all in — preferably with a Tinto de Verano, Spain’s cult summer drink that’s lighter than sangria and just as festive. Prefer bubbles? Their reimagined Spritz menu spans from the classic to bold Campari, delicate Sarti, or even a sparkling alcohol-free Crodino version.

Hungry? Expect sun-kissed tapas and Mexican touches: roasted peppers with fleur de sel, anchovies, nachos, tacos — a sensory journey across southern latitudes. Come for sunset drinks, stay for dinner under the stars, and leave with the feeling you’ve been somewhere else entirely.

This is where Brussels learns to let go. With its Mediterranean flair and handcrafted soul, Casa Alta transforms the rooftop ritual into something richer: a curated slice of summer, elevated and effortlessly cool.
