Vilebrequin x Fabrice Hyber: Between Canvas and Shoreline

Vilebrequin x Fabrice Hyber: Between Canvas and Shoreline

Swimteraction 1 positions the swimsuit as an active surface. With this first collaboration between Vilebrequin and Fabrice Hyber, drawing moves directly into use. The prints are not adapted to fit a concept. They are translated with care, retaining their irregular rhythm and openness, then placed into circulation through garments designed to be worn repeatedly.

Two print stories shape the collection. Pescador scatters fish across the fabric like notes in a travel journal. Multi Bubbles layers soft, rounded forms that overlap without order. In both cases, color remains close to the original artworks. Contrast is preserved. The effect is precise rather than decorative.

The pieces are designed to function across environments. Men’s and boys’ swim shorts form the core, joined by a linen bowling shirt, bucket hat, and tote. Each item responds to movement, heat, and water. Swim shorts dry quickly and sit comfortably on the body. Linen layers breathe, crease naturally, and transition easily from beach to shade.

Material choices matter because they support continuity of use. Prints remain clear after wear. Fabrics maintain their hand and shape. Details such as drawstrings, pockets, and cuts are considered for ease rather than display. Nothing interrupts the rhythm of use.

The campaign was shot in the Vendée valley, where Fabrice Hyber lives and works. Forest, studio, and open air form the backdrop. This setting reflects the way the collection is intended to exist. Outdoors, exposed to light and movement, integrated into real environments rather than isolated from them.

Swimteraction 1 marks the first chapter of an ongoing exchange between Vilebrequin and Fabrice Hyber, continuing through Cruise 2027 and Summer 2027. It sets a tone defined by accuracy, comfort, and continuity. Art is not elevated above function. It is integrated into it.
