François Bellabas brings his cutting-edge vision to Brussels with Unloading Overdrive, his first exhibition in Belgium, running from January 16 to March 13, 2025, at Contretype. The exhibition showcases a series of works rooted in Bellabas’s Motorstudies, a visual archive developed since 2016 that documents the urban sprawl of Los Angeles. These images are transformed through artificial intelligence into intricate, multi-layered artworks that challenge perceptions of space, memory, and technology.
Central to the exhibition is the concept of the “image-portal,” a gateway to both the mechanical and the organic, evoking a world constantly reshaped by data and networks.
