Citizen Series 8 Returns with Sleeker Proportions

Citizen refines its Series 8 collection with two new automatic watches that feel more compact, contemporary and versatile. The latest models retain the architectural personality of the line while introducing slimmer proportions designed for everyday wear.
The stainless steel case now measures 39.5 mm in diameter and 10.4 mm in thickness. It is a balanced size that should appeal to men looking for a mechanical watch with presence, without the weight or bulk of an oversized sports model. The construction combines an octagonal lower bezel with a circular upper section, giving the Series 8 its recognisable geometric character.
Japanese urban design continues to influence the collection. The textured dial features a chequered pattern inspired by the Tokyo skyline, creating subtle depth as the light changes. Applied hour markers and faceted luminous hands keep the display clear, while a discreet date window sits at 3 o’clock.
Inside, Citizen uses its ultra thin automatic Calibre 9051. The movement offers a 42 hour power reserve, a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour and resistance to magnetic fields of up to 16,000 A/m. This last feature is particularly relevant for a modern watch frequently exposed to smartphones, laptops and other electronic devices. The movement can be admired through the transparent case back.
Two interpretations are available. The Citizen Series 8 NB6080-51W pairs its steel case and bracelet with a deep green dial. Priced at €895, it is the sportier and more understated option. The NB6084-50A introduces a silver white dial, complemented by yellow gold plating around the bezel and crown guards. It is priced at €945 and brings a slightly more dressed up character to the same contemporary architecture.
Both versions feature anti reflective sapphire crystal and water resistance to 100 metres. These specifications make the watches suitable for daily use, while their refined dimensions allow them to move easily from a casual outfit to a more formal setting.
The new Citizen Series 8 does not attempt to reinvent the collection. Instead, it improves the proportions, sharpens the details and reinforces what already made the line attractive: confident Japanese design, mechanical performance and accessible pricing.
