As schedules fill up and daily life becomes increasingly intense, the home is taking on a more important role. It is the place where we can slow down, recharge and temporarily escape the constant flow of stimulation.
This growing desire for calm is also influencing contemporary interiors. Sharp lines are giving way to softer silhouettes, while tactile materials and generous volumes bring warmth and comfort into the home. Juntoo brings these ideas together through Friendly Design, the philosophy behind its new collection.
For the Belgian furniture brand, comfort is not simply an additional feature. It is considered from the first sketch, alongside aesthetics, function and ease of use. The result is furniture designed to look inviting, feel pleasant and withstand everyday life.
Furniture made for living
The Matera sofa gives Friendly Design its clearest expression. Full armrests continue into the back, creating an enveloping shape that feels almost like an embrace. Its generous proportions are balanced by seating designed to combine softness with support.
The modular construction allows Matera to adapt to different spaces and ways of living. Individual sections, loungers and open elements can be combined to create anything from a compact sofa to a spacious corner composition.
The Livio dining chair follows a similar visual language. Its tubular armrests flow naturally into the backrest, creating a continuous silhouette with a softer and more welcoming presence.
Comfort also becomes more personal in Juntoo’s new reclining armchairs. Adjustable mechanisms allow users to find a relaxed sitting position designed to reduce pressure, while selected models also feature adjustable headrests.
These new pieces join designs already present in the collection, including the rounded Sarpi sofa, the Norcia armchair, the fluid Curvo dining table and the Cerso chair. Together, they reveal a consistent approach to contemporary furniture based on softness and everyday usability.
Belgian textiles and tactile materials
Materials play an equally important role in the Friendly Design concept. Juntoo’s new textile selection focuses on rich textures, refined structures and subtle finishes that give each piece its own character.
The Melba Curated collection provides a particularly Belgian expression of this approach. Every stage of its production, from manufacturing and weaving to filling, finishing and fringing, takes place in Belgium. The result is a collection that combines softness with local craftsmanship.
Friendly Design also acknowledges that beautiful furniture must be practical. Natural and tactile materials therefore sit alongside durable surfaces that are easy to maintain.
Ceramic tabletops are a good example. They offer the refined appearance of natural stone while providing greater resistance and simpler everyday care. Juntoo has introduced new ceramic finishes across collections including Amato Ceramo, Volanto Ceramo and Arcanto.
The design process continues through prototyping, testing and refinement. Comfort, safety, materials and durability are evaluated together so that form and function support one another. Matera, for example, is produced in Europe and combines artisanal furniture making with mechanical precision.
