News – Mercedes S-Class facelift (2026) : Brighter, smarter, still the benchmark of luxury

Mercedes-Benz has unveiled a major update for its flagship S-Class, a facelift that reinforces the limousine’s position as the ultimate reference in the luxury segment. While its silhouette remains familiar, this evolution strengthens its visual presence and introduces more advanced onboard technology than ever before.

On the exterior, the S-Class gains a more assertive look. The grille is now larger and, on selected versions, fully illuminated, while new double-star lighting signatures further reinforce Mercedes’ identity, especially at night. The rear lights have also been redesigned with a more refined chrome frame and an updated light signature.

Inside, the S-Class takes another step forward in digital luxury. The large MBUX Superscreen becomes the centerpiece of the dashboard, combining the driver display, infotainment system, and passenger screen under a single glass panel. It now runs on the new MB.OS software architecture, designed for real-time updates and deeper integration of artificial intelligence.

Luxury remains at the core of the experience. Mercedes introduces new materials, including open-pore wood, refined textiles, and a new “Beech Brown” interior color. A more contemporary approach to craftsmanship is paired with an expanded MANUFAKTUR program, offering even greater levels of personalization.

Under the hood, the lineup remains diverse, ranging from six-cylinder engines to V8s, alongside plug-in hybrids capable of up to around 100 km of electric range. Ride comfort continues to be a priority, with standard air suspension, rear-axle steering, and further improved semi-autonomous driving systems.

This facelift confirms the philosophy of the S-Class : not to be the most dramatic, but to continue defining what automotive luxury truly means today.
