Bang & Olufsen x Fragment Design Collection Reimagines Iconic Audio Design
Bang & Olufsen introduces a new collaboration with Hiroshi Fujiwara’s Tokyo based design studio, Fragment Design, bringing a fresh perspective to four of the brand’s most recognizable audio products. The limited edition collection reflects more than three decades of Fujiwara’s connection with Bang & Olufsen, shaped through music, craftsmanship, and contemporary culture.
The collection includes the Beosound A1 3rd Gen portable speaker, the Beoplay H100 headphones, the Beosound Shape, and the Beosystem 9000c system. Each product combines Fragment Design’s monochrome black aesthetic with Bang & Olufsen’s precision milled aluminium finishes, creating a refined visual identity that focuses on detail and craftsmanship.
The experience of the collection centers on tactile materials and carefully considered finishes. Bang & Olufsen applied a specialized anodization and hand polishing process to select portable products for the first time, resulting in a liquid like high gloss aluminium finish. According to Bang & Olufsen Senior Director of Design Kresten Bjørn Krab-Bjerre, the process was developed specifically to bring Fragment’s signature black finish to life through a handcrafted approach.

The Beoplay H100 features Fragment’s double lightning bolt logo on the left ear cup alongside glossy aluminium accents. The Beosound A1 3rd Gen carries the motif beneath the grille, while the Beosound Shape uses a curated arrangement of seven black and grey fabric tiles in a flower inspired composition finished with an aluminium logo tag. The Beosystem 9000c setup pairs matte black surfaces with glossy natural aluminium across the system, Beolab 28 loudspeakers, and Beoremote One.

Bang & Olufsen positions the collaboration as a continuation of its legacy in timeless audio design and innovation. Hiroshi Fujiwara describes the release as a meaningful continuation of his long relationship with the brand, which began in the 1990s when he built his home around a Bang & Olufsen integrated sound system.

The Bang & Olufsen x Fragment Design collection also highlights the enduring appeal of iconic audio products designed for longevity and cultural resonance. The release draws inspiration from classic Bang & Olufsen products such as the Beocenter 2300 and the Beosystem 9000, reinforcing the brand’s focus on precision engineering and timeless craftsmanship.

Visually, the collection embraces restraint through monochrome tones, glossy aluminium surfaces, and subtle branding details. Fragment Design’s signature double lightning bolt appears throughout the collection, while the balance between matte black and polished metal creates a clean and contemporary aesthetic.
The Bang & Olufsen x Fragment Design collection debuts at a dedicated pop up inside Isetan Department Store in Shinjuku, Tokyo, from 20 to 26 May, followed by a Japan release on 27 May and a global online and selected store release on 3 June.

With its focus on craftsmanship, aluminium detailing, and timeless audio design, the Bang & Olufsen x Fragment Design collection presents a contemporary interpretation of four iconic Bang & Olufsen products while staying rooted in the brand’s heritage of precision and longevity.
