News – Mercedes-AMG GT 4-Door Coupé : AMG Goes Electric

Mercedes-AMG has just unveiled its all-new electric GT 4-Door Coupé, a model that marks a major turning point for the brand’s performance division. With up to 1,169 hp, an 800-volt architecture and charging speeds of up to 600 kW, this new AMG aims to push the boundaries of electric performance cars.

The new GT 4-Door Coupé is based on an innovative setup featuring three axial-flux electric motors: two at the rear and one at the front. Two versions will be available at launch: the GT 55 with 816 hp and the GT 63 delivering up to 1,169 hp. The latter claims a 0-100 km/h sprint in just 2.1 seconds and a top speed of up to 300 km/h with the optional Driver’s Package.

Mercedes-AMG is also focusing heavily on ultra-fast charging. Thanks to its Formula 1-inspired 800-volt battery technology, the electric GT can recover more than 460 km of range in just 10 minutes on a compatible charger. Charging from 10 to 80 percent is said to take only 11 minutes.

Despite going fully electric, AMG promises to preserve the emotional character of its performance models. The AMGFORCE S+ mode recreates the sensations of a V8 engine with artificial sound effects and simulated gear shifts. AMG ACTIVE RIDE CONTROL suspension, active aerodynamics and intelligent all-wheel drive complete an extremely ambitious technical package.

The new Mercedes-AMG GT 4-Door Coupé will be available to order soon, with prices starting at €151,855 for the GT 55 and €186,945 for the GT 63.
