Alcazar Paris Reopens in Spectacular Style

Some addresses never really disappear. They simply wait for the right moment to reclaim their place. This autumn, Alcazar Paris returns with a spectacular new identity, bringing fresh energy to one of Saint Germain des Prés’ most legendary venues. More than a restaurant or a cabaret, it once again becomes a destination where gastronomy, design and live entertainment come together under one roof.

Since opening in 1968, Alcazar has welcomed generations of artists and cultural icons, from David Bowie and Liza Minnelli to Serge Gainsbourg, Jacques Brel and Josephine Baker. Now, under the direction of Walter Butler, the iconic address has been completely reinvented while preserving the spirit that made it famous. The result feels respectful of its heritage without becoming nostalgic.

The first thing that captures your attention is the interior. Designed by Paris based Bureau Lacroix, the new Alcazar is an elegant blend of Art Deco glamour and contemporary luxury. Rich red velvet, sculptural marble, polished brass, handcrafted mosaics and theatrical lighting create an atmosphere that is both intimate and dramatic. At the centre of the room, a runway style stage extends into the dining area, dissolving the line between audience and performers and turning every evening into an immersive experience.

Entertainment is at the heart of the concept. Singers, dancers, acrobats and live performers appear throughout the night in a programme designed to evolve constantly, ensuring that no two evenings are ever quite the same. Rather than interrupting dinner, the performances become part of the rhythm of the experience, creating a lively yet refined atmosphere.

The kitchen embraces the same philosophy. Chefs Zouhair and Guillaume Lutard reinterpret the great classics of French cuisine with a contemporary touch, focusing on seasonal ingredients and generous flavours rather than unnecessary complexity. It is classic Parisian dining elevated by a setting that is impossible to forget.

With its remarkable redesign, carefully curated entertainment and timeless Left Bank address, Alcazar Paris is far more than a reopening. It marks the return of one of the French capital’s great nightlife institutions, reimagined for a new generation that appreciates exceptional design as much as unforgettable evenings.
