Vitra Anagram Club: A Sofa Designed for Changing Spaces

Shared interiors now need to accommodate many different uses throughout the day, from focused work and informal meetings to conversation and quiet retreat. With Anagram Club, Vitra introduces a sofa system made to move easily between them.
Created by Swiss design studio Panter&Tourron, the new model builds on the original Anagram Sofa launched in 2024. More compact and slightly more upright, it is designed for offices, coworking spaces, libraries, lounges and hotel lobbies. Its clean lines and structured comfort also make it an interesting choice for the home
Its real strength lies in its flexibility. The platform modules can connect on all four sides, while backrests, side panels and small tables attach through a clever click mechanism. Each element can be moved in seconds, allowing the same system to shift from a classic corner sofa to an island, an S shaped configuration or a more intimate meeting area. A version on castors makes those transformations even easier.
This modularity responds to a genuine change in the way interiors are used. A quiet corner in the morning might become an informal meeting place later in the day. Rather than fixing the room around a single function, Anagram Club lets the furniture adapt to what is happening.
Vitra has also considered what happens beyond the sofa’s immediate use. The cushions are made from V Foam, developed with BASF as an economically recyclable polyurethane foam, while the back cushions contain recycled PET fibre. The lightweight aluminium frame uses 80 percent recycled material. Components are neither glued nor laminated, making them easier to separate, repair and recycle at the end of their life.
Anagram Club does not try to reinvent the sofa through spectacle. Its appeal is quieter and perhaps more relevant: intelligent construction, restrained design and the freedom to let a space evolve.
