Philips Café Aromis 8000 Brings Barista Coffee Home

A good coffee machine is no longer something to hide in a corner of the kitchen. With its new black and dark grey finishes, the Philips Café Aromis 8000 embraces a more understated look, designed to sit comfortably in both contemporary and classic interiors.

Behind the restrained design lies a fully automatic espresso machine with an extensive menu of 54 hot and cold drinks. Espresso, cappuccino, flat white or cold brew can all be selected through the 4.3-inch TFT touchscreen, then adjusted according to personal taste.

The BrewExtract technology automatically measures and compresses the right quantity of coffee for each recipe. Seven intensity levels and twelve grinder settings provide plenty of room for experimentation, whether you prefer a lighter morning coffee or something richer after dinner.

Milk-based drinks are handled by the LatteGo Pro system, which produces hot or cold foam and works with both dairy milk and plant-based alternatives. It is also one of the machine’s most practical features: its components are dishwasher-safe and can be cleaned in around ten seconds.

An integrated Barista Assistant helps match the settings to the beans being used. Temperature, intensity and quantity can be adjusted directly on the machine or through the HomeID app. Up to eight users can save their preferences, avoiding the need to rebuild the perfect cappuccino every morning.

Daily maintenance has also been kept relatively simple. The brewing unit can be rinsed under the tap, while the AquaClean filter allows up to 5,000 cups to be prepared without descaling, depending on use. SilentBrew technology also makes the machine up to 40 per cent quieter than previous Philips fully automatic espresso machines.

With so many possibilities, the Café Aromis 8000 may appear slightly excessive for anyone satisfied with a quick espresso. For households where everyone has a different coffee ritual, however, its flexibility begins to make sense. The new darker colours simply make it easier to live with.

The Philips Café Aromis 8000 is available in black and dark grey at a recommended retail price of €999.99.
