De La Soul presents First Serve – Must B The Music

[wide][/wide] De La Soul’s Plug 1 and Plug 2 present First Serve, a hip-hop duo from Queens. Their debut album is due to drop early April and they describe it as, “the story of two dreamers in a basement struggling to start their musical career”. The pair’s sound is easily reminiscent of early De La Soul, combining ’70s funk and disco with Golden Era hip-hop. The animated world of their First Serve side project is a veritable feast for the eyes, as is evidenced by “Must B The Music” by all the beautifully bold visuals in its impressive accompanying music video. Actually, maybe it’s actually a video accompanied by a song. Take a minute (or four) to absorb it all.
