Moby released his new music video for “Mere Anarchy”. The somewhat post-apocalyptic video goes along with a new song that is set to appear on his upcoming studio album, Everything Was Beautiful, and Nothing Hurt. As a form of science fiction, the visuals portray a short post-apocalyptic story that involves some time traveling. However, this clip can also be interpreted as a protest against nuclear weapons. Sure enough, Moby is not only a great artist, he’s also a great humanist.
According to the 52-year-old songwriter and performer, the song title itself was inspired by a quote from “The Second Coming” by WB Yeats. Apparently that is one of Moby’s favorite apocalyptic poems according to a statement shared on his Facebook.
The video involves my friend Julie and I, visiting a post-apocalyptic Earth after all the people are gone
he also shared in the statement, read in its entirety below.
Someone described us as ‘time traveling aliens’, which i guess is pretty accurate..
