Sade – Flower of the Universe (From Disney’s “A Wrinkle in Time”)

When Ava DuVernay approached Sade to create an original song for A Wrinkle In Time, she got the shock of her life. Sade said “yes.”
That song, “Flower of the Universe,” is now in full bloom. Anyone familiar with Sade’s work, especially the Lover’s Rock album, will recognize the ingredients in “Flower of the Universe”: A scratchy beat, elegant, melancholy guitar and singer Sade Adu’s polished, imposing vocals. At the end of each verse, a pretty tangle of strings and brass wafts through the song, and “Flower of the Universe” ends in a handsome swirl of orchestration.
“Flower of the Universe,” Sade’s first new music since 2011, is out now
