Iittala’s tableware collection has now grown by a bowlful. The recently launched Teema Tiimi (2016) collection celebrates bowl eating in its versatile collection of round shaped objects. The collection’s global selection now expands with three new white bowl options for both serving and eating.
Teema Tiimi is created by young design talents who have thoroughly investigated Asian food cultures and dining habits. The collection is complemented by items by masters of Finnish design, Heikki Orvola and Harri Koskinen. Teema Tiimi takes into consideration the need for specific dishes in different cultures and at the same time the food trends and the growing interest towards the Asian cuisine in the western world. Teema Tiimi is created to combine perfectly with Iittala’s most beloved classics, such as the backbone of the brand’s tableware collection, the iconic Teema by Kaj Franck, from 1952.
Whereas the white elements of Teema Tiimi create a modern, stylish look, the new dotted grey glaze of Teema contributes a casual tactility to the collection with its lively dotted surface. The white and grey colours match each other beautifully and allow for creative combinations with the other colours and patterns of the Iittala collection or your kitchen cupboards.
At the same time, both white and dotted grey items create a base for fresh, colourful ingredients to shine. The harmonious colours can be paired harmoniously with even the most unexpected combinations of tableware, or with Iittala coloured glass items.
