New illy Art Collection: Stories Told in Cups

llycaffè continues its tradition of blending art and coffee with the latest illy Art Collection, a series of collectible cups designed by four inspiring female artists: Simone Fattal, Shirin Neshat, Monica Bonvicini, and Binta Diaw. Presented at Frieze London 2024, this collection transforms everyday coffee moments into an artistic experience, exploring themes of identity, human rights, and cultural heritage.

Each artist offers a unique perspective, shaped by their diverse backgrounds. Syrian artist Simone Fattal reflects on resilience and memory, while Iranian-born Shirin Neshat delves into themes of exile and gender. Monica Bonvicini from Italy examines power dynamics, and Senegalese-Milanese artist Binta Diaw addresses environmental and social issues. Together, their designs transform the iconic illy cup into a platform for conversation and creativity.

The collection isn’t limited to galleries. These cups, available in sets of two or four for espresso and cappuccino, are perfect gifts for coffee lovers and art enthusiasts alike. They can be purchased  via the illy e-shop, select museums, and illy Caffè locations worldwide.
