Images shot in Brussels at the VILLA EMPAIN. A 1930 Art Deco masterpiece erected by Swiss architect Michel Polak. The 2500 m2 mansion is currently the international headquarters of the Boghossian Foundation devoted to promoting art between East & West.
Like a universal answer through culture discrepancy, “Art is the answer”. This is the current exhibition running until September 2, focusing on Lebanese contemporary art. Throughout the shooting, you will see the Nada Debs “Distort Arabesque Sofa” of lacquered walnut & petrol blue velvet, while the wide-brimmed hat boy is photographed facing a detail of a Mohamad-Said Baalbaki installation, “Al-Burak I & II”.
And then there is MARC PAEPS, the photographer that conveys emotions.
Celebrated by several awards, he conducts his images through irony, humor and drama. He perceives subjects & objects like “hand painted” images, he directs like in a theater play… Marc Paeps is the situation man whenever duels like reality & subliminal are at stake.
